Cybersecurity and technology thought leader and subject matter expert Dave Chatterjee, Ph.D., has been at the forefront of information technology management since 2001. His interest and expertise lie in the various facets of information technology management – from technology sense-making to implementation and change management, data governance, internal controls, information security, and performance measurement. Dr. Chatterjee is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University and teaches in the cybersecurity program at the Pratt School of Engineering. He has also served as a tenured professor in the MIS Department at the Terry College of Business, The University of Georgia.

Dr. Chatterjee served as Chairman of the Board of the Society for Information Management (SIM), Atlanta Chapter, and as a board member of the Cybersecurity Collaborative, offering invaluable insights to chief information officers (CIOs) and chief information security officers (CISOs). He participated in CISO SWAT teams dedicated to addressing critical cybersecurity challenges. He also serves on the advisory board of technology and security companies such as Innovative Technologies AI, Open Street, and Citadel Security Group.

Dr. Chatterjee was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, a Taylor & Francis international peer-reviewed research publication.

He has industry certifications in cybersecurity, data analytics, ERP systems, and IT controls. 

Dr. Chatterjee delivers talks worldwidemoderates CXO panel discussions, conducts corporate training, workshops, and webinars, and provides consulting and advisory services. Before he was appointed Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Chatterjee served as Senior Editor of the Journal for Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, a prestigious international research journal (Taylor & Francis Publishing), with complete oversight over cybersecurity research. He also serves on the Journal of Strategic Information Systems editorial board.

Dr. Chatterjee has taught with distinction at all levels – undergraduate, professional, and executive MBA programs and Ph.D. He has extensive experience teaching in top executive programs such as the Terry College Professional and Executive MBA programs and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Global OneMBA program. Numerous accolades and honors have come his way, such as the Outstanding Executive MBA Professor of the Year and the UGA Outstanding Teaching Faculty Honoree. The UGA Career Center has recognized his significant contributions to the development and success of Management Information Systems (MIS) undergraduates. Then UGA Provost recognized his mentoring of undergraduate students under the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO) program. Dr. Chatterjee received the Thank-a-Teacher — Recognition from The University of Georgia’s Center for Teaching and Learning on Jan 10, 2023, and again on May 23, 2023.

Dr. Chatterjee has provided leadership and guidance to several important university and college governance committees. Then Vice-Provost recognized his impactful work as Chairman of the UGA’s Program Assessment and Review Committee. He is also very active in the IS professional community and has led the Society for Information Management (SIM), Atlanta Chapter for almost a decade. SIM is a premier non-profit knowledge-sharing and networking community of senior IT executives, prominent academics, and other thought leaders.

Dr. Dave Chatterjee’s Technology Roundtable was launched in 2016. Distinguished business leaders, award winning Chief Information Officers, and other renowned thought leaders have attended and spoken at these roundtable events. Topics covered include blockchain, artificial intelligence, data quality, and cybersecurity.

He is passionate about the development of the youth and engages in STEM and other types of initiatives. Dr. Chatterjee has offered professional development workshops to K-12 students on topics ranging from “Making the Most of Your Collegiate Experience to Realizing Your Full Potential, and Safe and Responsible Use of Technology. He also provides summer research opportunities for outstanding high school students and mentors them.

An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Chatterjee enjoys playing a variety of racquet sports – tennis, table tennis, badminton, racquetball, and squash. He has successfully completed two half-marathons and aspires to complete a full marathon in the near future.
